Michael joined Tri-State Actors’ professional company for the first time as Robin Goodfellow(Puck) and Philostrate in Season 2005′s ground-breaking  A MIDSUMMMER NIGHT’S DREAM, by William Shakespeare. Mr. Nathanson graduated from the theater program at Northwestern University and also studied at RADA in London. He has performed at numerous theaters in and around New York including Lincoln Center, Hangar Theater, Ensemble Studio Theater, Playwrights Horizons, The Neighborhood Playhouse, Guild Hall in East Hampton, New Jersey Rep, The InterAct Theater in Philadelphia, NY Fringe Festival 2004, and the River Rep in Connecticut. He has also performed in over 30 shows around Off and Off-Off Broadway in the past four years, including TAMING OF THE SHREW in Central Park, Charles Ludlam’s STAGE BLOOD at the John Houseman Theater, and GOD AND MR. SMITH at the Mint Theater. Film and TV work includes: GUIDING LIGHT, COUCH CONFESSIONS (a web series with Tovah Feldshuh), SEX AND THE CITY, the PBS documentary TRADING WOMEN with Angelina Jolie and several independent films. An Equity performer, Mr. Nathanson is a company member of New Jersey Rep and 12 Miles West Theater. In June 2005, he played the title role in HAMLET at Guild Hall in East Hampton. Mr. Nathanson is represented by Judy Boals, Inc. in NYC.

Herb plays Big Red Gilliam in Daniel Weber’s THE EXECUTION OF GOVERNOR BROWN… in Tri-State’s new play reading. Mr. Newsome is an actor/ writer/ director out of New York City. He began his acting career as a young boy in the films THE BROTHER FROM ANOTHER PLANET, THE PICK-UP ARTIST and the Off-Broadway play BLACK GIRL at the Second Stage Theater. He received his BA in Theater from the University at Albany and his MFA in Acting from Penn State (2002). His selected credits include A RAISIN IN THE SUN, THE MEETING, MACBETH, RICHARD III, REVENGE OF A KING, TAKE ME OUT, 911: A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PEOPLE, FREEMAN IN PARIS  and five August Wilson plays- MA RAINEY’S BLACK BOTTOM, FENCES, JITNEY, THE PIANO LESSON, RADIO GOLF. As a playwright he has penned two solo shows, IN DEVIL’S HEAVEN and FREEMAN IN PARIS, which was honored with 2011 Humanities Scriptwriting Award presented by the Institute of African American Research at UNC-Chapel Hill. His full length play REVENGE OF A KING, a hip-hop musical based on Shakespeare�s Hamlet, recently had a production at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown, South Africa.  As a director his credits include REVENGE OF A KING for the NY International Fringe Festival, the national tour of ROLL OF THUNDER HEAR MY CRY for the National Theater of Arts and Education, FORGIVABLE SINS, a finalist at the Samuel French One Act Festival in NYC, SING BLACK HAMMER and JOURNEY OF THE SPIRITS at the Kuntu Repertory Theater, and TOPDOG/UNDERD0G at the New Horizon Theater.
