As the actors read the letters aloud, what is created is an evocative, touching, frequently funny but always telling pair of character studies in which what is implied is as revealing and meaningful as what is actually written down. The Story— Andrew Makepeace Ladd III and Melissa Gardner, both born to wealth and position, are childhood friends whose lifelong correspondence begins with birthday party thank-you notes and summer camp postcards. Romantically attached, they continue to exchange letters through the boarding school and college years. While Andy is off at war [...]

ANNOUNCING TRI-STATE’S NEW SEASON 2013-14 FOR YOUR ENJOYMENT! JULY 31 – AUGUST 10–THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS, a musical play based on Kenneth Grahame’s WIND IN THE WILLOWS, adaptated by Douglas Post. Our production features the many talents of our own Youth Acting Company, made up of young aspiring performers from the tri-state region who have joined Tri-State Actors Theater in training, rehearsal and performing programs for season 2013-14. This delightful musical adaptation of Kenneth Grahame’s timeless story concerns the valiant friendship of the good-hearted and poetic Water Rat; the innocent and curious Mole; and the sensible, practical Badger. What tests that friendship is the arrogant, wily and slightly crazed Mr. Toad, an obsessive animal given to sudden and violent whims, like stealing motor cars and driving them recklessly about the countryside. Their thankless task is to save Mr. Toad from himself and then to rescue the magnificent Toad Hall from the Weasels, Ferrets, and Stoats who have laid claim to it while Toadie was in prison. A tale of great humor and heroics, it also deals with the simple values and responsibilities owed to one’s fellow creatures…….Stay..and meet the actors after every performance! Appropriate for the whole family *************************************************************************************************************************** [...]
