THE ACTORS


BRIAN O'HALLORAN (Charlie Conlon)--brian o'halloranwill play Charlie Conlon in the international hit Irish comedy, STONES IN HIS POCKETS, by Marie Jones .Mr. O'Halloran joined TAT in season 2002 in the role of  Yvan in Yasmina Reza's ART last season. He has performed in numerous theater and film productions. His theater credits include: FOUR DOGS AND A BONE, TRANSLATIONS, DANCING AT LUGHNASA, SYLVIA, WAIT UNTIL DARK, THE GLASS MENAGERIE, THE DRESSER, DRACULA, and CRIMES OF THE HEART. As a member of NJ Rep, he starred in A WORLD I NEVER MADE and AN UNHAPPY WOMAN. Brian is most recognized for his work in films. His credits include Kevin Smith's CLERKS, MALLRATS, CHASING AMY, DOGMA, and JAY AND SILENT BOB STRIKE BACK. He currently can be seen in theaters in the film VULGAR. He starred in the animated TV series CLERKS, which is being made into a feature film. He was last seen on the Tonight Show in the short film THE FLYING CAR.  He can be seen next in the romantic comedy DROP DEAD ROSES, to be in theaters soon.

ERIK SINGER (Jake Quinn)--Suzanne Hayes Erik is pleased to be making his debut for Tri-State Actors Theater as Jake Quinn in   STONES IN HIS POCKETS.  Theatrical credits include the title role in THE HOSTAGE at NYC's acclaimed Irish Repertory Theater, GROSS INDECENCY: THE THREE TRIALS OF OSCAR WILDE (BoarsHead Theatre), and THE TEMPEST (Vermont Stage Company.)  He has also appeared on ALL MY CHILDREN and AS THE WORLD TURNS; and was the voice of Vincent Van Gogh in the recent A&E BIOGRAPHY about Van Gogh and Gauguin.  He narrated the audiobook of the best-selling The Dogs of Babel, by Carolyn Parkhurst, as well as the upcoming The Five People You Meet in Heaven,by Mitch AlbomErik is a graduate of Yale University and the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London. He lives in Manhattan with his girlfriend and their two house bunnies, Portia and Sebastian. 

 
 
BRIAN SHNIPPER (Director)--most recently completed work on the 
East-Coast premiere of Kristine Thatcher's VOICE OF GOOD HOPE starring Tony Award nominee Frankie Faison, for Luna Stage (Star-Ledger's "10 Best of the Year".)  Other credits include the world premiere of Nagle Jackson's BARNEY DOWNSIZED, Keith Reddin's ALL the RAGE, Tennessee Williams' THE NOTEBOOK OF TRIGORIN, Nagle Jackson's A HOTEL ON MARVIN GARDENS, HITTING FOR THE CYCLE, THREE VIEWINGS and THE WATER CHILDREN (12 Miles West Theatre Company, where he served as Artistic Director from 1998-2001.)   Mr. Shnipper directed THE WORLD'S LONGESST KISS, LUBNA and ALIEN BOY, which won the OOBR Award for Best Production (Turnip Theatre Company,) and BALM IN GILEAD (Monclair State Universtiy, Kennedy Center's American College Theatre Festival Finalist.)  As an actor, Mr Shnipper was featured Off-Broadway in THE ICE-FISHING PLAY, THE GEOGRAPHY OF LUCK (Samuel Beckett Theatre), LOUIS SLOTIN SONATA (EST October Fest,) and LAST NIGHT AT ACE HIGH (Negro Ensemble Company, directed by Douglas Turner Ward.) Regionally, Mr. Shnipper has appeared with Theatrefest, American Stage 
Co., and 12 Miles West Theatre Co.  He appeared in the film, YOUNG SURVIVOR.

 
MARIE JONES (PLAYWRIGHT)-- was born in Belfast, Ireland. Miss Jones was writer-in-residence ther for Charabanc Theatre Company from 1983 to 1990. Plays written for Charabanc include LAY UP YOUR ENDS (co-written with Maring Lynch); OUL DELPH and FALSE TEETH; NOW YOU’RE TALKING; GIRLS IN THE BIG PICTURE; SOMEWHERE OVER THE BALCONY; THE HAMSTER WHEEL (published in The Crack in the Emerald: INHB); THE TERRIBLE TWINS’ CRAZY CHRISTMAS; THE BLIND FIDDLER OF GENADAUCH; WEDDINS, WEEINS AND WAKES and GOLD IN THE
STREETS. Marie has written several plays for Replay Productions and DubbelJoint Theatre Company. Plays for Replay include UNDER NAPOLEON’S NOSE; HIRING DAYS; DON’T LOOK DOWN; YOURS TRULY; THE COW, THE SHIP AND THE INDIAN and IT’S A WASTE OF TIME TRACY. For
DubbelJoint, plays include HANG ALL THE HARPERS (co-written with Shane Connaughton); THE GOVERNMENT INSPECTOR (adaptation); A NIGHT IN NOVEMBER; WOMEN ON THE VERGE OF HRT and STONES IN HIS POCKETS. The last two went on to enjoy successful runs in the West End of
London. Her most recent plays are WOMEN ON THE VERGE GET A LIFE, which toured the UK and RUBY, which opened in Belfast in 2000, about the life of the singer Ruby Murray.

Marie Jones has also written various pieces for both TV and radio and is the recipient of the John Hewitt Award for Contribution to Cutural Traditions. STONES IN HIS POCKETS won the Irish Times/ESB Award for best production in 1999. In London it won the Evening Standard Award for Best Comedy and the Olivier
Award for Best New Comedy
