Newton…Tri-State Actors Theater will hold company auditions for its 2011 Summer Intern Training Program on Saturdays, May 7 through June 11. Tri-State Actors Theater has trained hundreds of students who are interested in learning the art of theater and performing, since its first season in the summer of 1989. This summer’s Family Production is THE JUNGLE BOOK, the musical.

Auditions for TAT’s 24th Summer Season, under the direction of Tri-State’s Artistic Director and Founder, Paul Meacham, are open to students, ages 13 through 18; appointments are not necessary. Auditioners will be asked to read selected characters from the script and sing a simple tune. Head shots and resume will be accepted, but are not required.

Saturdays, May 7 and May 14 from 11am until 3pm at Sussex County Community College, College Hill Road, Newton in the Student Center Dining Room

The Intern Program begins July 11, with three weeks of rehearsals, from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Production dates for THE JUNGLE BOOK are August 3 through August 20. All rehearsals and performances will be at Sussex County Community College, Newton. Interns must be available for all rehearsals and performances. There is a $185.00 non-refundable registration fee for the program. Past season production’s include Hey, Ho Pinocchio, Charlotte’s Web, Stuart Little, Winnie the Pooh and many others.
