TRI-STATE IS RAISING THE CURTAIN ON A GREAT PLAY-READING SERIES FOR THE ENJOYMENT OF OUR MANY PATRONS AND FRIENDS!

We're calling it the
"ON THE TOWN PLAY SERIES," and it will feature great plays by established playwrights from Broadway and around the World! This season we'll read intriguing, fantastic, funny and unique plays from Canada, Ireland, England, and of course America . . .

Here is  a little info about each famous playwright--

NORM FOSTER (Canada)--THE FOURSOME--(ON THE TOWN at the Lamp Post Inn, Vernon, May 22,2011)

Norm Foster was born in Newmarket, Ontario and grew up in the city of Toronto.  While working in radio in Fredericton, New Brunswick in the early eighties, he began writing stage plays, and since that time he has become one of Canada's most prolific amd most produced playwrights.  Sometimes called by Americans the Neil Simon of Canada, his plays include THE MELVILLE BOYS, THE AFFECTIONS OF MAY, HERE ON THE FLIGHT PATH, ETHAN CLAYMORE, AND WRONG FOR EACH OTHER.

CONOR MCPHERSON (Ireland)-- THE WEIR--(ON THE TOWN at the Irish Cottage, Franklin, July 16,2011)

Acclaimed by the New York Times as "...quite possibly the finest playwright of his generation," Conor McPherson was born in Dublin. He was educated at University College Dublin, McPherson began writing his first plays there as a member of UCD DramSoc, the college's dramatic society, and went on to found Fly By Night Theatre Company which produced several of his plays. He is considered one of the best contemporary Irish playwrights; his plays have attracted good reviews, and have been performed internationally (notably in the West End and on Broadway).

THE WEIR opened at the Royal Court before transferring to the West End and Broadway. It won the Laurence Olivier and the Critics Circle Award for Best New Play for 1999. Other plays by McPherson include: DUBLIN CAROL, SHINING CITY, and THE SEAFARER.
